Binnen een paar blokken aangaande elkaar in het centrum van Northside, vindt u een paar over een meeste geliefde ontbijtplekken in Iowa City.

Hamburg Inn nr. 7 was een 1e. De legendarische Hamburg Inn nr. 2 werden gesticht in 1935 en heeft zijn geschiedenis op een muren geëtst. Het politici, kandidaten en presidenten veelal langs Hamburg aankomen, bewijzen een heleboel krantenknipsels in een eetzaal. Hamburg staat bekend om zijn rijke culturele erfgoed en heerlijk eten voor al die drie de maaltijden.

Een andere iconische ontbijtplek kan zijn Bluebird Banket, slechts ons blok verderop naar het oosten. Dit is een gewilde selectie vanwege studenten en de lokale gemeenschap. De ambiance met dit avondmaal is charmant en dit serveert flinke ontbijtgerechten betreffende vers appels. Bluebird en Hamburg zijn altijd druk in dit weekend, doch ze zijn het echt waard.

 

 

Terry Trueblood - Stand Up Paddleboard

Terry Trueblood, gelegen met de zuidkant, is ons met de andere recreatiegebieden in de stad. Dit bevindt zichzelf net voorbij de Iowa City Municipal Airport. Die openbare ruimte beslaat 185 hectare en kan zijn gelegen nabij de oevers van Sand Lake. Het verdere ligt aan de zuidkant over een verharde Iowa River Trail.

De verzorgde buitenruimte kan zijn volmaakt vanwege vele activiteiten bijvoorbeeld lopen, geocachen en fietsen. Tevens kunt u dan ook vanuit dit recreatiegebied een bootje te drinkwater laten. Het bevroren verdere is in de winter geliefd vanwege ijsvissen of schaatsen.

Fin & Feather kan zijn een lokale uitrusting en outdoorwinkel in Iowa City. De verhuurwinkel over Fin & Feather is beheerd door Terry Trueblood. Klanten mogen kajaks, stand-up paddleboards en kano's huren een uur ofwel een gehele dag.

 

 

Wandeling in Hickory Hill Park

Hickory Hill Park beslaat meer dan 180 hectare in een noordkant betreffende Iowa City. U bezit toegang tot een breedvoerig netwerk met paden vanaf de hoofdingang aan Bloomington Street. Hickory Hill kan zijn een populair gebied wegens wandelaars, fotografen en natuurliefhebbers.

U kunt Hickory Hill Park verder bereiken door via de historische begraafplaats aangaande Oakland te lopen. Die begraafplaats betreffende 40 hectare werd aangelegd in 1843 en kan zijn een laatste rustplaats vanwege tientallen invloedrijke vroegere bewoners met Iowa City. De begraafplaats kan zijn de thuisbasis van dit iconische Black Angel Monument, dat personen aantrekt met bovennatuurlijke legendes en mythen.

 

 

Geniet met een weekendtrip tot de Maquoketa-grotten

Maquoketa Caves State Park kan zijn een gewilde locatie om te verkennen en ligt op 90 minuten met Iowa City. Dit park bevat meerdere grotten welke open zijn wegens het publiek en aangevoegd bestaan door een wandelpad direct naast Raccoon Creek.

Grotten bestaan te ontdekken in kruipruimtes of een geweldige Dancehall-grot, welke een betonnen loopbrug en 350 meter goede plafonds heeft. Elektrische lichten bestaan verder beschikbaar in een Dancehall-grot. Vanwege dit verkennen aangaande verschillende grotten in het park geraken zaklampen aanbevolen. Tevens kleren die gemakkelijk vuil kan zijn, wordt geadviseerd.

Weekendjes weg mogen gemakkelijk geraken gemaakt door een camping Maquoketa Caves. Deze kampeerplaats is passend voor safaritent- of camperkamperen en heeft 24 posten betreffende elektriciteit en zes plaatsen die begaanbaar zijn via ons inloop.

 

 

Bezoek een Amana-kolonies

Een Amana-kolonies werden gesticht door Duitse piëtisten welke in 1855 op een vlucht waren wegens religieuze vervolging. Het begon wanneer een gemeenschap welke bloeide in dit landschap aangaande Iowa. Het erfgoed is alsnog almaar te opmaken op 30 minuten ten westen aangaande Iowa City. Amana Colonies, het unieke winkels, evenementen en architecturale rondleidingen biedt, kan zijn een van Iowa's populairste weekenduitstapjes.

Ons geweldige locatie om te beginnen kan zijn het Amana History Center. Het museum heeft context en informatie aan een historie van de Amana-kolonies. Heel wat rondleidingen via de Zeven Dorpen beginnen bij dit Amana Heritage Centre.

De Amana-kolonies zijn ons populaire bestemming vanwege winkelen, dineren en festivals. Tradities en cultuur bestaan belangrijk vanwege een gemeenschap. Ze leggen een nadruk op handgemaakte ambachtelijke waren. Een plaats is het Ox Yoke German Eethuisje het te merken is vanaf een Interstate-80. Dit serveert grote porties en is ons speciale plek.

Een evenement het je niet mag mislopen in een Amana-kolonies is het lentetijd Maifest. Winterfest kan zijn een populair evenement dat ons menigte liefhebbers van koud alweer aantrekt teneinde deel te nemen met activiteiten zoals ijssnijden of een sneeuwballendans. Duitse worstliefhebbers dienen te hun kalenders markeren wegens het jaarlijkse Wurst Festival. Die is in augustus gehouden.
